Vermont Business Magazine UVM Health Network – Home Health & Hospice’s annual Jiggety Jog 5K fundraiser will be held on Saturday, June 8 at Malletts Bay School in Colchester. Registration will begin at 8am and the run/walk will begin at 9am. All are invited and encouraged to participate in the 5k run/3k walk, and enjoy lawn games, music and more.
This annual fundraising event is the single largest fundraiser for the McClure Miller Respite House, Vermont’s only Medicare-certified hospice home. Every dollar raised goes directly toward providing room, board, personal care, and special services for residents, regardless of their ability to pay.
Everyone can participate. Here’s how:

- Invite family, friends, colleagues, neighbors to join or support you.
- Ask for support to reach your personal fundraising goal.
- Tag #RunforRespiteHouse during the event and post your photos online.
“The McClure Miller Respite House is a wonderful asset for our community, and we are so proud to offer compassionate end-of-life care to those who need it. This event and the proceeds raised is critical for our patients and the community, and we love celebrating the Respite House each year,” said Christine Werneke, president and chief operating officer for UVM Health Network - Home Health & Hospice.
The McClure Miller Respite House has served our community for over 30 years, providing medical care and compassion to those at the end of their lives. The Respite House has always been driven by community support and we thank everyone that has helped throughout the years. Every dollar raised from the Jiggety Jog 5K goes directly to support the McClure Miller Respite House.
“This event brings families, colleagues, neighbors, and friends together to raise money for end-of-life care here in Vermont. This support helps ensure our services are available to everyone who needs them, regardless of their ability to pay. We are so grateful for the support we receive,” says Maya Fehrs, director of development. “We’re thankful to those who participate every year and those who are joining us for the first time this year.

UVM Health Network - Home Health & Hospice, formerly the Visiting Nurse Association, is a 116-year-old organization dedicated to delivering health care to patients of all ages and stages of life, wherever they call home in Chittenden or Grand Isle counties. It is Vermont’s oldest and largest non-profit home health and hospice organization, founded in Burlington in 1906.

Home Health & Hospice care spans the lifetime and includes comprehensive nursing care for adults and children, rehabilitation services, chronic disease management, an adult day program, palliative care services and compassionate end-of-life care, provided either at home or at Colchester’s McClure Miller Respite House, Vermont’s only Medicare-certified inpatient hospice facility.
Last year, Home Health & Hospice served more than 4,300 individuals during 138,522 hours of care and provided more than $2.1 million in charitable care to neighbors in need. We are proud to be a funded agency of the United Way of Northwest Vermont.
