Emily O’Hara, former director of domestic violence response systems at the Vermont Network Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, has joined the Vermont Commission on Women as communications and outreach coordinator.
In her new role, O'Hara will manage the organization's communications, strategic public relations and marketing functions; develop and implement public education initiatives, materials and campaigns; and represent the commission in public settings and coalitions.
O'Hara is a graduate of the SUNY Plattsburgh and holds a master's degree in gender and development from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex in Falmer, England. This fall, she will begin a doctoral program in sustainable development policy, economics and government at the University of Vermont.
