Richmond-based UnTapped, a leading provider of all-natural athletic fuel products crafted with organic maple syrup, has appointed co-founder Doug Brown as CEO. The new title is more a formality than a change of duties, as Brown has directed and overseen the day-to-day operations of independently owned company for many years.

“I’m excited to help continue to spread the message of natural fueling that is the basis for everything we do at UnTapped," Brown said. "I’m humbled by the title the board of founders has offered me and look forward to continuing to support the entire UnTapped team.”

Brown co-founded UnTapped in 2013 alongside his brother and sugar maker Roger Brown, professional cyclist Ted King and entrepreneur Andrew Gardener. The Browns hail from the Cochran skiing family of Richmond, where they first began maple sugaring with their cousins.
