NVRH welcomes speech-language pathologist Rita-Mary Sweeney

Rita-Mary Sweeney

Rita-Mary Sweeney, a speech-language pathologist with more than 10 years' experience treating adults and adolescents with communication, voice, cognitive and swallowing disorders, has joined the speech-language department at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury.

Sweeney joins NVRH from Mass General Brigham's Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, New Hampshire, where she served as speech-language pathology supervisor. In that role, she oversaw a team of nine speech-language pathologists while also maintaining a personal caseload. Sweeney earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of New Hampshire.

“It is very exciting to see our program grow and to welcome Rita to our team,” said Sarah Winans, operations director of the speech-language pathology practice. “Rita brings a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience. And because we can offer greater access now, we look forward to sharing these important services with patients in our community.”
