The University of Vermont Health Network and the UVM Health Network — Home Health & Hospice have elected new trustees to their respective boards.
The Health Network board elected three new members: Sandrine Kibuey, president of the Vermont New American Advisory Council and director of the Housing Advocacy Programs Team at the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity; Dr. Edmondo Robinson, professor of medicine and oncologic science at the University of South Florida's Morsani College of Medicine; and Ian Schmidek, managing director in the asset and wealth management division of Goldmans Sachs in Boston.
“As we move beyond COVID-19 and navigate the many interconnected challenges that have followed, at the governance level this is a time to refocus on social determinants of health and equitable access to care for our communities,” board chair Allie Stickney said. “We will be working to ensure that the UVM Health Network is able to provide timely, excellent care in modern facilities, support our hardworking staff, advance education and research, participate in health care payment reform, and partner with our communities to reach populations in need in Vermont and the North Country. Each of our new board members will be key in advancing these goals.”
Home Health & Hospice trustees, meanwhile, appointed four new members to their board: Charlotte McCorkel, senior director of client services at the Howard Center; Dr. Laura McCray, a family medicine physician at the University of Vermont Medical Center's South Burlington clinic and professor in the Clinical Scholar Pathway at UVM's Larner College of Medicine; Midhat Hadzic, food service manager at Feeding Chittenden; and Charles Wiebe, managing director at Moorgate Partners.
“We know that providing high-quality health care at home is critical for so many members of our community,” said board chair Pam Mackenzie. “The board, with its new members, will continue working to support Home Health & Hospice and the great work of our employees as they provide this critical resource.”
