Ryan Murphy, former district director of the Rutland area office of Child Protection Services, has joined United Counseling Service as director of outpatient mental health and substance use services.
UCS’s Outpatient Mental Health program provides counseling services, Equine Assisted Therapy, therapy groups, and mental health and disability evaluations to residents of Bennington County. The Substance Use Services division comprises a medication-assisted treatment program, intensive outpatient program, individual and group therapy, and case management services.
Murphy comes to UCS with more than 20 years’ experience working in the mental health and substance use services field, including 14 years in the child protection sphere in the United Kingdom. He is a graduate of Boston University and holds a Master of Social Work from Simmons College in Boston.
