Vermont Business Magazine Max Murray (Kennebunkport, ME) from the University of Vermont soccer team announced today he has signed a name, image and likeness (NIL) partnership with Folino's Pizza. The Vermont-based company has locations in Burlington, Shelburne, Williston. Murray will appear in photos and videos and promote the restaurant on his social media accounts. The partnership was brokered by Pliable, a marketing company that helps high school, college and professional athletes build their athlete brand.
Murray, 21, recently announced he will return for his fifth year to play for the Catamounts. He has 13 goals and 6 assists during his past two seasons, in which the team has appeared in the NCAA tournament twice, including an appearance in the quarterfinals in 2022.
"I am really excited about this NIL partnership with Folino’s. They have the best pizza in Vermont. I love that I can support a Vermont-based business that has demonstrated outstanding support for UVM
athletics. I am proud to be a brand ambassador for Folino’s and look forward spreading the word about the restaurant on campus and beyond," said Max Murray, soccer player at the University of Vermont.
Folino’s is known for their wood-fired, artisan-style pizzas made with a sourdough crust. They also offer wood-fired chicken wings and Detroit style pizza.

"Max is a really talented athlete and awesome person. We love seeing him every time he comes in with his teammates. We are excited to partner with Max because during his time at UVM he has become a great role model in our community, both on and off the field. We see him as a great ambassador for our brand and our community," said Seth Desrochers, COO of Folino's.
Earlier this year, Murray signed with Pliable for athlete branding opportunities including NIL representation. He worked directly with Greg Glynn, athlete brand advisor & CEO of Pliable to create the NIL agreement with Folino's.
"Max told me how much he loves Folino's, and they have a really good brand ambassador program for UVM athletes, so I knew this would a great name, image and likeness partnership for him. Max is part of the next generation of athletes who recognize the opportunity to grow their athlete brand around the brands and products that support their goals during and after their career," said Greg Glynn, athlete brand advisor & CEO of Pliable.
Based in Augusta, Maine, Pliable represents more than 30 high school and college athletes across the country. In addition to Max Murray, Pliable also represents Alyssa Bourque from the University of Vermont track & field team and University of Vermont commit Natalie Beaudoin who will play next season on University of Vermont women's basketball team.
