Vermont Business Magazine Spectrum Youth and Family Services is excited to announce the expansion of the Mentoring program into Franklin County. This program intends to address a gap in access to other mentoring opportunities in the county.
Since 2002, Spectrum Mentoring has operated in Chittenden County, connecting youth ages 12-22 with adult volunteers to support them in reaching goals and engaging in the community.
According to Mentor National, “Mentoring provides meaningful connections that impact the people involved and influence their lives at home, at work, and in their communities.” Mentors are supported by program staff, training, and mentor-specific discounts to local businesses.
Mentors and Mentees are matched based on shared interests and meet at least twice a month. As the expansion begins, there is a great need for volunteer mentors. Anyone interested in mentoring can reach out to our Mentoring Associate, Alexa Taschereau at (802) 777-4625 or [email protected].
Mentor applications can be found on the Spectrum Youth and Families website. Due to the overwhelming need for mentors in this county, we are not accepting youth applications at this time.
Located in Burlington, Vermont, Spectrum Youth & Family Services helps teens and young adults ages 14-24 meet their basic needs, access mental health counseling and substance use disorder, and get help with employment, education, and living independently to thrive as young adults.
