Curt Alpeter, former president of Runamok Maple in Fairfax, has been named CEO at Grafton Village Cheese Co., a subsidiary of the Windham Foundation. In his new role, Alpeter will lead the historic and award-winning handmade cheese business, including operations, retail and wholesale distribution.
"Curt brings a wealth of specialty food knowledge and 33 years of experience building Vermont companies," said Windham Foundation Board chair Bill Bruett. "He is passionate about promoting Vermont’s agrarian economy, land stewardship and specialty cheese making."
At Runamok Maple, Alpeter helped build the company into a nationally recognized specialty food brand. He has served as board chair at Audubon Vermont and was a member of several other nonprofit boards, including the Charlotte Land Trust and North Country Federal Credit Union.
