1% for the Planet, a global network with thousands of businesses and environmental organizations working together to support people and the planet, has appointed Annika Berman, Madelyn Postman and Marcius Extavour to its board of directors.
Berman is deputy director of strategy at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where she advises teams across global health and development, global policy and advocacy, and U.S. education on the creation and execution of their strategies. She is an economics graduate of Yale University and holds an MBA and a certificate in public management and social innovation from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Postman is joint managing director and co-owner of Grain Sustainability, a consultancy with the mission to help organizations champion people and the planet. A graduate of Brown University, she has a background in branding, design and communications. Postman is based in London and serves on the 1% for the Planet UK & Ireland Steering Committee.
Extavour is chief climate solutions officer at CO2 Time, the climate action platform of Time. He launched the inaugural Time 100 Climate list of the world’s influential leaders taking business action on climate change. Extavour holds a bachelor's degree in engineering science and master's and doctoral degrees in atomic physics and quantum optics, all from the University of Toronto.
