Dr. Stephen Leffler, president and chief operating officer at the University of Vermont Medical Center, has joined the Academic Medical Center CEO Executive Advisory Council of Vizient, the nation’s largest member-driven, health care performance improvement company. Leffler will serve on the 16-member council for a three-year term beginning in 2024.
The council’s primary role is to serve as the governing body for Vizient’s Academic Medical Center CEO Network, a network of more than 100 academic medical center and health system CEOs who meet to share thought leadership, leading practices and forward-thinking projects and ideas. The group also serves in an advisory role to Vizient, representing the voice of academic medical centers.
Members of the council are selected to represent the different segments of academic medical centers — from those operating within large, multistate health care systems, to those that, like UVM Medical Center, are the only academic medical center in the state they serve.
