The Vermont Futures Project has welcomed three new members to its board of directors: Jake Holzscheiter, president and CEO at A.N. Deringer; Peter McDougall, president and director at Paul Frank + Collins; and David Tabaruka, financial controller at the Community College of Vermont. Vermont Futures is an independent nonpartisan organization with a goal of providing a vision that supports and encourages long-term economic growth for Vermont, providing data and recommendations to achieve this goal.

“Jake, Peter and David join a strong team of professionals who are dedicated to using data to bring people from different perspectives together for productive discourse aligned towards common goals and values,” Executive Director Kevin Chu said. “Their guidance on creating a vision for the future of Vermont is invaluable and I am deeply grateful for their partnership.”

Holzscheiter has led A.N. Deringer, a Saint Albans-based firm specializing in transportation, logistics, supply chain and storage, for three decades. He is a graduate of Washington & Jefferson College and is president of the board of directors at Northwestern Medical Center.

McDougall has served for more than 17 years — four and a half years in his current position — at Paul Frank + Collins, a law practice in Burlington. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont and holds a Master of Laws degree from Boston University School of Law and a law degree, cum laude, from Vermont Law and Graduate School.

Tabaruka joined the Community College of Vermont in March 2022 from the Canadian rail transportation company Alstom, where he served as finance project manager. He is a graduate of Champlain College and holds a master's degree in accounting and finance from Southern New Hampshire University.
