Shop Small on November 25th
Small Business Saturday 2023 will be held on November 25th, marking the 14th annual celebration of the day. This day was created to help independent businesses capture a larger piece of the critical holiday season consumer spending, while also helping address small business owners’ most pressing need: getting more customers through their doors.
Small businesses are the engine of our national economy. Today, there are over 33 million small businesses and startups in the United States. Small businesses create two-thirds of net new jobs, making them crucial pillars of communities across the country.
Right now, The United States is experiencing a historic small business boom under the Biden-Harris Administration with more than 21,000 new small business applications here in Vermont since the President took office.
Let’s keep the momentum going forward. Small businesses need our support as they continue to navigate, retool, pivot, and grow.
Here are some ways we can all do our part to support the small businesses in our communities:
- Choose to Shop Small and make a holiday purchase at a local business on Small business Saturday. It’s a meaningful show of support for entrepreneurs and small business sellers – these business owners help generate jobs, stimulate the economy, and contribute to the vibrancy of our local neighborhoods.
- Visit small, independent restaurants, eateries, and entertainment venues this Small Business Saturday. If your out and about on Small Business Saturday and taking a break for a snack or lunch, why not visit a locally owned establishment?
- Encourage friends and family to do the same by shopping at a small business in-person or online. Better yet, make a day of it and Shop Small together!
