Organic Certification Cost Share Program Deadline Extended to December 15th

Vermont Agency of Agriculture Food & Markets The Organic Certification Cost Share Program deadline has been extended from November 1st to December 15th. If you are a certified organic producer or handler who have paid certification fees to become newly certified or re-certified, you may be eligible for cost-share reimbursement. 

Certified organic operations may receive reimbursement of up to 75% of their direct certification costs paid annually, not to exceed $750 per certification scope. There are up to four eligible certification scopes (crops, livestock, wild crops, and handling), which must be individually inspected for organic certification to be eligible for reimbursement. 

Reimbursement is available on a first come, first served basis.

Organic Dairy Price Reporting

Seeking Participants: Organic Dairy Price Reporting Program
Do you own an organic dairy farm in Vermont? The Agency of Agriculture seeks ten participants to report quarterly milk volume & pricing figures for a new pilot program.

The program, with support from the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service, will pay ten dairies $300 each (paid at the end of the reporting year) to report price and volume figures each quarter.

Program participants will be chosen so the group represents a variety of Vermont's counties and farm size.

REDI Consultant Request for Qualifications


The Vermont Housing and Conservation Board's Rural Economic Development Initiative (REDI) seeks to grow their network of consultants serving clients.

REDI provides grant writing and technical assistance to rural communities and working lands businesses that lack capacity to access federal and other complex funding sources.

The Request for Qualifications form and more information are available online.

Submit a Workshop Proposal for the 2024 NOFA-VT Winter Conference

You can be a part of the 2024 NOFA-VT Winter Conference! NOFA-VT is now accepting workshop proposals for their conference on February 17th and 18th at the University of Vermont. 

Successful proposals should be concise and focused on a timely topic.

NOFA-VT welcomes proposals on topics related to food and farming systems, including but not limited to: teaching specific skills, sharing knowledge or experiences, or advocating for policy or systems change.
