Vermont Association of Hospitals & Health Systems VAHHS is holding its Annual Meeting: Community Connections. "We have a packed agenda! We will explore how various organizations in our community—including hospitals and other health care providers, but also businesses, government agencies and other groups—can work together to support one another."
Speakers include:
- Jonathan B. Perlin, M.D., Ph.D., President and CEO of The Joint Commission, who will discuss his team’s work in improving quality and patient outcomes, in part through public-private-academic partnerships.
- Kyle Clark, founder of Beta Industries, who will explore how community connections allow us to harness innovation in fascinating ways.
- Cindy Manganelli, from the National Health Care for the Homeless Council, who will present on strategies on successful partnerships, or “Playing Well With Others.”
- Ethics and Legal Issues Panel, exploring your questions and issues, with our own Devon Green, our in-house counsel Shireen Hart and Cindy Bruzzese from the Vermont Ethics Network.
- Break-out sessions— one with UVM Health Network on violence in the workplace and the community and another with Healthworks on housing insecurity and health care.
As always, we’ll leave time for you to network with colleagues and friends. We’ll also organize a group bike ride and a gentle end-of-day yoga class.
