Acrylic paintings by Randolph artist Pati Braun Grandy are on display through July 31 in the Gifford Gallery at Gifford Medical Center. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
Grandy, who grew up in Randolph Center, has loved art since her grade-school days. She enjoys working in a variety of media, including acrylics, pencil, pen and ink, watercolors, and photography. Her work has been displayed in shows across Vermont, and her pieces can be seen in private collections as far away as Hawaii.
“I’m thrilled to be painting flowers for my showing at Gifford,” said Grandy, who has an associate degree in landscape design and ornamental horticulture.
She put art aside for many years, she said, to raise a family and pursue other professional paths, including a 10-year career as a medical office manager. While she has little formal art training— one semester of art school—she credits her natural ability for her success.
“I have always been able to see shadows and shapes, which helps me with the ability to make three-dimensional paintings and drawings,” Grandy said.
When not creating art, including custom hand-painted signs, she enjoys spending time with her husband, grown children, and many grandchildren. She may be contacted via email at [email protected].
The Gifford Gallery is located just inside the hospital’s main entrance at 44 S. Main St., Route 12, in Randolph. Artwork may be purchased by visiting the Gifford Development, Marketing and Public Relations Department, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 802-728-2380.
