Vermont Agency of Agriculture Food & Markets Are you interested in the prices paid at farmers markets across Vermont? Whether you are a consumer or producer, it's important to be informed. Each week the Agency of Agriculture produces a report highlighting prices of more than 50 vegetables, fruits, meat, and eggs, from markets across the state. It covers conventional and organically grown products, and includes high, low, and average price points.
These price reports can help a consumer feel informed when making decisions at the market, or help producers seeking a reference point for their own products. The pricing can even help value your crop should you ever need to file an insurance claim.

Gov. Scott Requests Federal Disaster Designation
On June 22nd, Governor Phil Scott requested that the USDA issue a disaster designation for the State of Vermont in response to significant frost in May that impacted Vermont Farms.
“The damage is extensive and pervasive, and we anticipate small pick-your-own farms may be particularly impacted,” wrote Governor Scott.
A Secretarial Disaster Designation would open the availability of financial assistance, including low-interest USDA Farm Service Agency emergency loans for eligible producers in the approved counties.
