Woodridge Rehabilitation and Nursing celebrates 30th anniversary

Celebration Includes Unveiling of New Courtyard for Residents

Vermont Business Magazine Today, Woodridge Rehabilitation and Nursing is celebrating three decades of high-quality care and service to the Central Vermont community while looking toward the future with the unveiling of a newly-renovated private courtyard for residents at the not-for-profit facility.

Woodridge, a 153-bed facility, is known for its excellence in nursing, with services ranging from standard care to highly skilled care, including palliative care, advanced wound treatment and pain management.

Residents also receive the highest quality physical, occupational, speech and swallowing therapies – all in the closest proximity possible to Central Vermont Medical Center. It carries the legacy forward of two former care facilities: Heaton House in Montpelier and McFarland House in Barre.

“Our devoted staff has provided an environment filled with compassion and understanding, providing the highest quality, person-centered care to our residents, while providing peace of mind for their families for 30 years,” said Anna Tempesta Noonan, President and COO of Central Vermont Medical Center. “Our primary goal remains unchanged—to help our residents return and sustain as much independence as possible. Respect and compassion remain the bedrock of our care philosophy, and our homelike environment offers a vibrant sanctuary for healing and comfort.”

Woodridge continues to provide both long-term and short-term care to individuals needing nursing and rehabilitation services. Residents will now enjoy a renovated courtyard that will serve as a vibrant sanctuary for healing and comfort. The courtyard is directly accessible from the Woodridge activity room and provides a connection to nature for residents.

The courtyard is surrounded by the Woodridge facility, which created additional challenges to the construction process. The renovations, funded through philanthropy, include a sensory garden, stone waterfall and walking paths will continue to provide a serene space for decades.

An event débuting the courtyard will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. today, followed by a dinner and reception from 5 to 7 p.m. celebrating Woodridge’s 30th anniversary.
