Kristen Shamis and Ed Adrian have been named directors at the law firm Monaghan Safar in Burlington.
Shamis joined the firm in 2007 and has more than 15 years’ experience servicing the firm’s municipal, business and individual clients. She advises Vermont municipalities on a wide array of issues, including land use and zoning matters, tax sales, employment law, third-party legal review and real estate matters. In addition to her municipal practice, Shamis represents business owners throughout the life cycle of their business, from formation and permitting to sale.
Adrian, who joined Monaghan Safar as of counsel in 2014, provides general counsel services to municipal entities throughout Vermont. His nonmunicipal practice focuses on professional regulatory defense, administrative law, general employment law and student/parent side education law. Adrian is a 1992 graduate of the University of Vermont and holds a law degree from Vermont Law School.
