Melissa Sheffer, former director of rooms and community engagement at Jay Peak Resort, has been appointed director of rooms at the Woodstock Inn & Resort. In her new position, Sheffer will have oversight of all rooms division operations, including front desk, bell services, concierge, public-space cleaning, gift shop and reservations, with a heavy focus on housekeeping operations.
“We are fortunate to have Melissa join our team,” said interim President Elaine Olson. “I am confident in her ability to assure that the guest experience is exceptional in nature from arrival to departure and that each team member is trained and working to exceed guest expectations at every touch point and encounter as it pertains to these specific job functions.”
In addition to her tenure at Jay Peak, Sheffer has held leadership positions at several other resorts throughout the country, including Topnotch Resort & Spa in Stowe, Vermont; Enchantment Resort and Mii Amo Spa in Sedona, Arizona; Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa in Beaver Creek, Colorado; Luxury Suites International in Las Vegas; and Tropicana Hotel and Casino, also in Las Vegas.
Sheffer is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and holds multiple certifications in hospitality.
