Travis Sheldon, deputy director of water quality and operations at the Champlain Water District in South Burlington, was presented with the Michael J. Garafano Water Operator of the Year Award by the Green Mountain Water Environment Association at its annual conference May 25 in Killington. This award is presented to an operator for outstanding performance in system maintenance, protecting public health and achievement beyond normal responsibilities.
The Champlain Water District is a drinking water treatment facility that provides safe, high-quality drinking water to more than 83,000 customers throughout Chittenden County.
