DEW Construction announces five promotions, six new hires

DEW Construction, a Williston-based construction management, design/build and general contracting firm serving Vermont, New Hampshire and the Northeast region, recently announced the promotions of five employees and the hiring of six new team members. Names and a brief overview of job responsibilities follows.

Promotions

  • Dan Riley, from general superintendent to vice president of operations. Riley primarily oversees the integration of preconstruction and construction services, ensuring all projects are completed on time, on budget and of the highest quality. He also supports the vice president of field operations and the safety program.
  • Chris Bertrand, from general superintendent to vice president of field operations. Bertrand oversees the field operations teams and the safety program. He will work closely with the vice president of operations to ensure that field crews are supported appropriately.
  • Ben Laflam, from assistant superintendent to superintendent. Laflam will oversee all field activities, including quality control, safety, field office administration and look-ahead schedules.
  • Josh Deutsch, from carpenter apprentice to project engineer. Deutsch supports project teams during construction to meet quality, scheduling, cost management, safety, environmental protection and customer-satisfaction objectives.
  • Chantel Crawford, from accounts payable supervisor to marketing specialist. Crawford will collaborate with the marketing director to strategize and implement comprehensive marketing approaches. Her responsibilities will include producing thorough, tailored proposal responses and supporting materials for client meetings and interviews, and maintaining the company's CRM database.

New Hires

  • Kamron Bushway, safety manager. Bushway leads and manages the company's safety program; monitors all construction activities to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration construction industry standards; works closely with operations on job-specific safety, preconstruction planning for new project safety and human resources on staffing safety requirements; keeps all personnel current on required training and procuring and distributing the most up-to-date personal protective equipment to our staff; and collaborates with DEW's third-party inspection company, Contractor's Risk Management, to conduct regular site inspections.
  • Kevin Hoard and David Dalton, project managers. Hoard and Dalton manage the business side of projects, including preparing budgets, creating schedules, responding to unique project demands, collaborating with engineers and architects, and communicating with clients about progress.
  • Andrew Hoogeboom, assistant superintendent. Hoogeboom directs field activities with the team, quality control, safety, field office administration and look-ahead schedules.
  • JoAnne Silloway and Alex Chappell, accounts payable associates. Silloway and Chappell are responsible for managing incoming invoices, processing timely payments to outside vendors and subcontractors, and internal reconciliation of employee credit cards.
