Rutland Regional Medical Center announces 2022 providers of year

Rutland Regional Medical Center, the largest community hospital in Vermont, has recognized four health care employees as 2022 Providers of the Year. The winners were selected for their contributions to the Greater Rutland community, staff and patients.

Rutland Regional Medical Center awardees are:

  • Sarah Rich, MD, Physician of the Year. Rich, an emergency medicine physician, joined Rutland Regional in 2014. She is a graduate of William Smith College in Geneva, NY, and holds a medical degree from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine. Rich's peers said she "always goes the extra mile, builds rapport, leads with kindness and helps build a collaborative environment with her coworkers."
  • Danielle Robillard, Rutland Regional Advanced Practice Provider of the Year. Robillard, a hospital medicine nurse practitioner, joined Rutland Regional in 2013 as a licensed nursing assistant. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington and holds a master’s degree in nurse practitioner studies from Purdue University. Nominators highlighted Robillard's kindness, clinical skills, comprehensiveness, collegiality and compassion.

Rutland community provider awardees are:

  • Amy Ferguson, MD, Primary Care Physician of the Year. Ferguson joined Rutland Regional Medical Center in 2016 as a pediatrician with Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region and as a member of the hospital’s pediatric hospitalist team. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and received a medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Nominators praised Ferguson's exceptional collaboration, superior neonatal and pediatric clinical service, and compassion and dedication.
  • Suzanne Jones, Advanced Practice Provider of the Year. Jones started working in the Rutland community at Marble Valley Health Works in 2000 and joined Rutland Regional Medical Center in 2017 as an affiliate staff member. She is a graduate of St Lawrence University and holds a master's degree in nutrition from the University of Vermont. Jones was nominated for her professionalism, clinical excellence and character.
