Kim Peake promoted to director of financial integrity at Blue Cross Vermont

Kim Peake of Essex has been promoted to director of financial integrity at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont, the state’s only local, nonprofit health plan. Peake has been at Blue Cross for 17 years; during that time has held several roles in underwriting, including associate underwriter, underwriter, senior underwriter and most recently, manager of underwriting.

“Kim brings creativity and positive solutions to Vermont employers who offer health plans with the best care for their employees at the lowest possible cost,” said Ruth Greene, chief financial officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont.

In her new position, Peake will be working to ensure the long-term financial viability of the company, which provides health coverage for about 200,000 Vermonters. She will lead the actuarial risk adjustment and the underwriting teams, which assesses risk and sets rates for customers.

Peake is a graduate of Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. She is an active volunteer for Dragonheart Vermont, a nonprofit organization that strives to strengthen and empower breast cancer survivors through the challenging support of dragon boating.
