Glenn McRae elected to Age Well Board of Directors

Glenn McRae of Burlington, director of the Northeast Transportation Workforce Center at the University of Vermont, has been elected to the board of directors at Colchester-based Age Well, the leading experts and advocates on aging in northwestern Vermont.

“Building age-friendly communities is essential to a sustainable future for Vermont,” McRae said. “I welcome the opportunity to join the learning community of the Age Well board to contribute my personal and professional experiences to strengthen and advance the organization's mission.”

McRae, who also is co-chair of the Burlington Aging Council, has a doctorate in anthropology and a background in social ecology and anthropology, serving as a foundation for his interest in older adults and the aging network. He has led local, statewide and international organizations working to advance local food systems; socially responsible business development; recycling and safe waste management; and social enterprise development.

Age Well provides services and support to allow older adults in Addison, Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle counties to stay independent and remain healthy at home, where they want to be.
