Vertek Corporation, an industry-leading telecom operations and managed security services provider, announced that Jorge Reis has succeeded Brad Soutiere as president as part of a long-planned succession search and that Ron Hruby has been promoted to chief operating officer.
Reis takes on the president role after serving as the company's chief strategy officer since March of last year. Prior to joining Vertek, he had spent 19 years with Telstra, a $28 billion communications carrier headquartered in Australia. Reis also ran his own consulting company for three years, where he worked closely with Vertek on special projects as well as other US- and Asia-based information and communications technology companies.
"Jorge is such a fantastic fit for Vertek, and I'm really excited about what he can do for us," said Vertex founder and chairman Jim McCormick. "I can't thank Brad enough for what he has done and will continue to do for Vertek in his new role."
Hruby, a 24-year Vertek employee, begins his new role after previously serving as chief technology officer and senior vice president of cybersecurity. He is a graduate of Champlain College.
"Ron's attention to detail, operational savviness and creativity make him a perfect fit as Vertek's new chief operating officer," Reis said. "I look forward to working closely with both Ron and Brad as we continue to evolve our product and service offerings to better meet our customers' needs."
