HCRS honors winners of its community partnership awards

Health Care and Rehabilitation Services in Springfield recently presented its James Bartley Community Partnership Award to two individuals who have made a "profound difference" in the lives of southeastern Vermonters with mental health issues or disabilities.

Recipients were Jill Lord, director of community health at Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, and Margaret Gultekin, job and transitions coordinator and special educator, and her colleagues in the Occupational Development Program at the Springfield School District.

The presentations were made November 10 at HCRS's annual meeting before approximately 115 board members, staff, clients and community members. More than 60 HCRS employees were also recognized at the event for their service to the agency.

Founded in 1967, HCRS serves more than 4,000 individuals in Windham and Windsor counties every year through its mental-health, substance-abuse and

developmental-disabilities programs.
