VBSR names state Rep. Tim Briglin 2022 Legislator of the Year

State Representative Tim Briglin (D-Windsor-Orange 2), who chose not to seek reelection this fall after serving eight years in the Vermont House, has been named 2022 Legislator of the Year by the statewide business trade organization Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility.

Briglin, chair of the House Committee on Energy and Technology, was cited by the association for his work on behalf of legislation in the climate, broadband and workforce development arenas.

Representative Briglin has been an invaluable partner to VBSR and a true champion for socially responsible business in the Vermont statehouse,” Public Policy Manager Jordan Giaconia said.

Briglin was first elected to the General Assembly in 2014 after working on multiple state and national campaigns, including those of US Senator Patrick Leahy, US Representative Peter Welch, Secretary of State Deborah Markowitz and President Barack Obama. In the early-1990s, Briglin served as Leahy's legislative assistant on budget, tax and economic issues. He was on the Vermont delegation to the 2008 and 2012 Democratic National Conventions and has been treasurer of the Vermont Democratic Party.

Briglin is currently a managing partner at Tuckerman Capital, a firm he co-founded in 2001, a director of Mascoma Bank and a trustee of the Windham Foundation.

He will accept his Legislator of the Year Award at the VBSR Legislative Breakfast Dec 9 at the Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center in Burlington.
