Make-A-Wish Vermont has elected Christian Kuzia, general manager of Courtyard by Marriott Burlington Harbor, as chair of its board of directors for a two-year term, and appointed four new board members.
Kuzia has served on the Make-A-Wish board for the past two years and is an active member of the Burlington community. He currently serves as vice chair of the Burlington Business Association and is a past board member of the Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce and the Vermont Convention Bureau.
New members joining the board are Katie Clark, a founding member of Beta Technologies; Michael van Gulden, founder and CEO of Chocolate Thunder Security; John Mullet, vice president of operations and station manager at VOX Radio Group; and Sangita Prabhu, analytics and insight manager at Mascoma Bank.
“Our new board members have been friends, volunteers and donors to us for many years,” said Jamie Hathaway, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Vermont. “What they all have in common — and the reason I am thrilled to have them on our team — is their commitment to improving the lives of Vermont’s children and their families facing critical illnesses.”
Make-A-Wish Vermont grants wishes to Vermont’s children with life-threatening medical conditions, providing much-needed hope, strength and joy to the healing process. The organization granted its 900th wish from its office in Shelburne this summer.
