Woodstock Inn & Resort names new human resources director

Judy Geiger, former director of human resources at Killington/Pico Ski Resort, has joined the Woodstock Inn & Resort in the same capacity, effective Sept 12. She succeeds Ann Tucker, who will retire after a brief transition period.

In her new role, Geiger will lead all aspects of recruitment and retention; employment and hiring; employee relations; and training and have general oversight of the human resources department. She will also oversee the management of employee benefits programs and dynamic recruitment and staffing initiatives.

“We are so pleased to welcome Judy Geiger to this critical leadership role,” said Courtney Lowe, president of the Woodstock Inn & Resort. “A consummate and compassionate professional, Judy brings a dynamic and empathetic approach to all functions of human resources that will be a tremendous asset as we grow the resort team.”

At Killington/Pico, Geiger's responsibilities included communicating the company strategy and culture through staff training and orientation, management of the safety and workers’ compensation program, and maintenance of personnel records and overseeing the processing of the payroll. She has also held leadership positions at the American Skiing Company, Sugarbush Resort and the Canyons Resort.

Geiger was the 2021 recipient of the Spirit of the ADA Award from the Vermont Governor’s Committee on the Employment of People with Disabilities. She has been active in local and national organizations, including the Green Mountain Human Resources Association, the Vermont Workforce Investment Board and the Society for Human Resources Management.
