Burlington School District names new HR director, two new vice principals

Burlington School District has named Denise Bailey executive director of human resources and promoted Sarah Gould and Antony Dennis to vice principal for the 2022-23 school year.

Bailey, who previously served as the district's human resources compliance manager, is an attorney with extensive experience in various areas of employment law, including family and medical leave; workers' compensation; the Americans With Disabilities Act; Title IX; and equal employment opportunity.

“I am thrilled to welcome Denise back to BSD,” said Superintendent Tom Flanagan. “She has deep experience in the field and understands the complexities involved in the work we are doing to create a learning community that values and respects every student and adult.”

Gould, who had been serving as special education district coordinator for the past two years, will take over as assistant principal at Hunt Middle School. Dennis, a math teacher at Edmunds Middle School since 2010, will remain at that school in his new role. Both jobs became effective July 20.
