Shelden Goodwin, political outreach director at Vermont Conservation Voters since 2019, has joined the Vermont Democratic Party as finance director, effective July 11. In her new role, Goodwin will lead the party’s strategic fundraising efforts, ensuring a well-funded, sustainable Vermont Democratic Party through this election and well beyond.
Goodwin comes with a strong background in campaign finance, fundraising and political organizing and has built a statewide network in her years working in Vermont. Prior to her tenure at VCV, she worked for the Vermont Democratic Party as field organizer for Chittenden, Grand Isle and Franklin counties during the 2018 campaign.
“We are most fortunate to have brought Shelden back to the Vermont Democratic Party as finance director,” said party chair Anne Lezak. “She has the skills, experience and temperament that we need in this vital role. We have great confidence in Shelden’s ability to lead our team in building the stable, strong financial base that will help us support and elect great Vermont Democrats at every level.”
Goodwin said she is excited to be back with the Vermont Democratic Party. “I’m ready to get to work to make sure Democrats up and down the ticket here in Vermont have the resources they need to run and win in 2022 and in elections to come,” she said.
