Rebecca Kincaid, MD, has joined the pediatrics team at Gifford Health Care in Randolph. A native of Indianapolis, Kincaid spent the last six years working at an outpatient practice in Utah.
Kincaid received her medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine and was a pediatric resident at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City. After a recent visit with a physician friend in Rutland County, Kincaid and her husband decided they wanted to move to Vermont.
Kincaid’s philosophy is to not only get to know the patient, but also the patient's family. She enjoys working with teenagers and relishes the challenge of getting them comfortable enough to talk about the real issues they’re experiencing.
“There’s a lot of hard stuff kids are going through these days, especially with social media,” Kincaid said. “Everybody needs at least one trusted adult they can ask anything to and not feel judged or like they're going to get in trouble. To be that extra trusted adult in their life is an honor and a privilege.”
