Hayley Shriner, former high school completion program plan manager and educational adviser at Vermont Adult Learning, has joined United Way of Northwest Vermont as resource coordinator for the Working Bridges program. Working Bridges is a United Way initiative designed to help workers keep and grow stable employment.
In her new role, Shriner works one-on-one with employees at their workplaces to help them meet their goals and address life issues impacting their work. Shriner provides confidential support and connects workers to community resources to help with housing, transportation, child care, financial counseling and much more.
"Hayley’s background in education working with diverse populations and her commitment to inclusion and equity make her an incredible asset to the Working Bridges team," said Connie Beal, director of the Working Bridges program. "The ability to meet people where they are and to build trusting, supportive and nonjudgmental relationships is vital to the work we do, and Hayley has a track record of doing that."
Shriner has a bachelor's degree in religion and Arabic language from Marlboro College and a master's degree in international education from SIT Graduate Institute.
