Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center welcomed three new members to its board of directors. They are Christy Gallese, Megan Sullivan and Anastasia Surmava.
Gallese is director of expanded learning opportunities for the Burlington School District, managing the district’s after-school and summer learning programs. Additionally, she was one of 15 chosen to serve as a national after-school ambassador for the Afterschool Alliance in 2019.
Sullivan, a graduate of the University of Vermont, has spent her professional career working on economic and community-development programs and policies in the state. She currently serves as vice president of government affairs at the Vermont Chamber of Commerce.
Surmava, who holds a bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine from UVM, owns and operates a financial planning practice. She spent seven years sailing around the world as a cook aboard a chartered yacht and helped found an online training academy for aspiring yachties.
