2021 Miss Vermont USA and Miss Vermont Teen USA crowned at annual pageants

Joanna L Nagle, 27, of Colchester, Vermont, has been crowned Miss Vermont USA 2021, and Jamisyn Baker, 15, of Rutland was crowned Miss Vermont Teen USA 2021. The coronations took place at The Spruce Peak Arts Center in Stowe, VT on Sunday June 6, 2021.

Nagle, the newly crowned Miss Vermont USA 2021, is an athlete and a digital marketing strategist. She has been playing ice hockey since she was 8 years old.

The Colchester native played hockey in Colchester High School and the University of Vermont in Burlington. In 2016, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a Graphic Design Certification from Savannah School of Art and Design. Nagle currently is working as a digital marketing strategist. In September 2019, USA Hockey issued her USA Hockey Coaching Level 4 Certification. She is currently coaching the CVU Hockey team.

Nagle will be representing Vermont at the Miss USA pageant this November in Tulsa, OK.

Runner-up to Nagle was Jessie Graves, 25. The respective second, third and fourth runners-up were Paige Carrara, 28, Kathryn Trahan, 24, and Erin McClallen, 19.

Additionally, Jamisyn Baker, 15, of Rutland was crowned Miss Vermont Teen USA 2021 competing with 6 other candidates. Baker is currently a Sophomore at Rutland High School and is active in the Spanish Honor Society and is a Frozen Volunteer. Her hobbies include Cheerleading and working to promote Alzheimer’s awareness through her social cause “Purple Warriors”, which raises money to end Alzheimer’s. This cause is very close to her as Alzheimer’s has touched her family. She works with Walk to End Alzheimer’s to get local high schools to include volunteering to be counted as Community Service hours for attending the walk.

Baker will be representing Vermont at the Miss Teen USA pageant this November, in Tulsa, OK.

Runner-up to Baker was Theresa Culpo, 18. The respective second, third and fourth runners-up were Madison Spafford, 16, Olivia Venkus, 18, and Kiara LaPenna, 17.
