PP&D turns 40

Bill Orleans, owner and founder of PP&D Brochure Distribution, is proud to announce the company has reached its 40th year in business. In 1981, the year that brought bricks to Church Street and a theater to the Flynn, a young man had a bag of posters, a Datsun 610, and a few clients.

He would never have imagined what it would become and how long it would last. Starting in Burlington, the first posters were from The Lane Series (who are still a client!), Main Street Dance, LeClub, and Hunts. Soon after, PP&D expanded into Brochure and Magazine distribution, delivering for The Church Street Center, Burlington Square Mall, Shelburne Museum, Dexter Shoes, and the Spirit of Ethan Allen.

Over the years, PPD has acquired 11 distribution and advertising companies. They have been involved in a dozen chambers, tourist associations, The Vermont Tourism Summit and The International Association of Visitor Information Providers.

Orleans would like to show his deep appreciation to 100 great employees over 40 years, including current staff: Frank Davison, Denise Bergman, and Lorraine Healey, who have each been with PP&D for 28 years; and Paul Hamilton, Rod Munn, and Amanda Brooks. “It has been a true pleasure serving the community and working with so many amazing people and friends,” Orleans said. “I’m looking forward to another forty.”

Currently the company distributes brochures and magazines to over 700 PP&D owned displays, throughout most of Vermont and some of New York and New Hampshire. They also publish the Northern VT/NY Map, Burlington Drinking and Dining Guide, and Champlain and Upper Valley Coupons.

In 2018 PP&D was contracted to deliver to Vermont Highway Information Centers and became the official Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing calling and fulfillment center. PP&D has warehouses in Burlington and Worcester, VT.
