Grace Cottage food service manager receives national award

Grace Cottage Family Health & Hospital Food Service Manager Denise Choleva was named the Certified Dietary Manager of the Month for November by the National Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP). Choleva joined the Grace Cottage food service staff 22 years ago and has managed the department since 2002. She has been a member of ANFP since 2001. Choleva started her career training as a child, helping her grandmother with her catering business. She studied culinary arts at Franklin County Technical School (Turners Falls, MA). In her position at Grace Cottage, she emphasizes teamwork and fresh, local foods. Last year, 38% of Grace Cottage’s food expenses supported local producers. Under Choleva’s leadership, Grace Cottage has also signed the U.S.-Canadian Healthy Food in Healthcare pledge.
