Linda Rossi, State Director of Vermont Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC), announced the appointment of Katherine Paterson as the organization’s Program Operations Analyst.
Paterson’s responsibilities encompass data analysis, the collection of key performance measures, developing and enhancing internal and external processes and resources and modernizing the organization of documents related to financial reporting and grant compliance. She will also contribute to VtSBDC’s newly launched blog, The Starting Point.
A Vermont native and graduate of the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT, Paterson received a bachelor’s degree in business finance with a focus in global business and a minor in mathematics. Her past internships covered a range of experiences including banking, technology, and digital services.
Paterson has demonstrated forward-thinking leadership skills in her roles as treasurer and vice president of the Enactus Chapter of UVM, head teaching assistant of UVM’s Business Management and Technology course, and Valuation Modeling and Stock Pitch course at Morgan Stanley in New York City.
“The VtSBDC team values the assistance Kate provided during her summer internship, and looks forward to the diverse projects she will work on as a full-time staff member,” said Rossi. “Like many other Vermont organizations and businesses, VtSBDC responded to the impact of COVID-19 by expanding virtual programs, resources, and services. Kate’s skill set fits with our long-term goals for web and intranet updates, digital tools and tips for our clients, and a refreshed infrastructure for online processes and procedures.”
Paterson eagerly anticipates expanding the breadth and depth of the work she has started.
“I plan to use and build upon my past experiences to help find ways to decode the secret language of business in order to better assist our business community and encourage economic development throughout the state.”
