Kat Lane joins Children’s Literacy Foundation staff

The Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF), based in Waterbury Center, VT, is pleased to welcome Kat Lane as our new Data/Office Manager. Kat will help us keep this small nonprofit that serves all of Vermont and New Hampshire running smoothly. She will be responsible for maintaining our donor database, managing finances, and administrative tasks around the office.

Kat has many years of administrative, marketing, and sales experience, primarily in the fields of education, and travel and leisure. Beginning with her Liberal Arts degree from Colby College in Maine, Kat believes in building a well-rounded education through life-long learning, life experiences, and travel. Over the years, she has cultivated her personal skills by enrolling in classes ranging from massage therapy, cooking, and spreadsheets, to real estate, interior design, and graphic design. Kat brings her analytical thinking and knack for fine-tuning systems to her role as Data/Office Manager at CLiF. In her free time she enjoys running, paddling, skiing, reading, dabbling in graphic design, and making memories with lots of family adventures.

Kat says, “I'm so looking forward to working with CLiF, and contributing to the mission of helping our local younger learners develop strong literacy skills. Recently, the elementary school I was working at was a recipient of CLiF's Year of the Book grant. During this time my children were in 4th grade there, so I was able to see - first-hand and two-fold - how amazing the Year of the Book program truly is. Seeing our school's students literally light up when they selected their own brand new (free!) books was so fun and exciting.”
