Lund Board of Directors welcomes new president

At its annual meeting, the Lund Board of Directors approved a new slate of officers effective July 1st. The Board also approved a balanced fiscal 21 budget and commended the Agency on its continuation of client services during COVID-19.

Interim Executive Director Tricia Coates said, “Lund is so grateful for the contributions of these leaders to the Agency’s continued success and sustainability. Christine Oliver brings a depth of experience and passion for Lund’s mission to the President’s role.”

Lund Board Officers for the 2020-2022 term are: Christine Oliver, President; Tom Cheney, Vice President; Cyndee Sturtevant, Treasurer; Stephanie Miller Taylor, Secretary and Emily Lee, Immediate Past President

Christine Oliver, of East Montpelier, joined the Lund board in 2017 with an extensive background in health and human services. She is currently the Senior Vice President at NFP in South Burlington. Previously she held various positions in the Agency of Human Services including Deputy Secretary and Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health. Christine was also a member of the Finance Committee of the Council of Vermont Elders from 2014 to June 2017.

Tom Cheney, of Jericho, is the Executive Director of Advance Vermont. Previously he served as the Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Human Resources, as a Washington D.C. based Legislative Assistant to Congressman Peter Welch, and to Vermont Speaker of the House Shap Smith.

Cyndee Sturtevant, of Shelburne, joined Lund’s board about 6 years ago, after first serving as a member of the finance committee. She also serves on the board of the Howard Center. Cyndee graduated from Penn State and then earned an MBA from UVM. She has held different professional roles as an accountant, an instructor at the Community College of Vermont, a business and human resources manager and a high school German teacher.

Stephanie Miller Taylor, of Warren, is the Vice President/Director of Marketing at her family’s real estate business R.E.M. Development, in Williston. In addition to the Lund board, Stephanie is the Vice President of the Cathedral Square Cooperation board, sits on board of the Burlington Business Association and is the past Chair of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Emily Lee, of Burlington, became involved in Lund by joining the finance committee and will continue her service on the development committee. With a background in banking and financial management, she brings great experience to the Lund board. Emily is on the Sailing Center board and serves on the Burlington Planning Commission. She was also the 2012 recipient of the Ray O’Connor Award for Community Improvement.

Lund helps children thrive by empowering families to break cycles of poverty, addiction and abuse.
