Bradshaw named Assistant Director of Workforce Development

The Vermont Department of Labor announced today the hiring of a new Assistant Director in their Workforce Development Division. Hugh Bradshaw will serve as the Assistant Director of Workforce Development, adding to the robust team of workforce and training professionals the Department of Labor has been assembling.

Bradshaw previously served as the Employment Services Manager at the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, where he spearheaded the Creative Workforce Solutions (CWS) initiative of the Vermont Agency of Human Services (AHS) that offers coordinated approaches to employment placement services for qualified workers who face challenges in the workforce. Prior to his work for Vocational Rehabilitation, Bradshaw was Executive Director of the Vermont Association of Business, Industry and Rehabilitation (VABIR), a statewide non-profit dedicated to connecting employers to candidates with disabilities.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have Hugh Bradshaw joining our team,” stated Sarah Buxton, Director of Workforce Development. “Hugh brings a breadth of knowledge and experience with him, and I am positive that with his guidance and experience the Department of Labor will be able to expand the quantity and quality of our employment services.”

Bradshaw shared those sentiments, states “I am delighted to join the Department of Labor, and look forward to bringing my skills and experience to the team as they work to build a system that meets both the needs of employers and the aspirations of the Vermonters who make up our dynamic workforce.”

Bradshaw is one of many strategic hires the Department of Labor has made in the last three months, as the Department works to combat the challenge Vermont faces with regards to workforce and job readiness. “Hugh Bradshaw is an incredible addition, and we know he will

bring his years of experience, energy, and a customer-focused approach to improving the systems and tools we are using to expand the State’s labor force,” said Buxton.

Bradshaw will start at the Department of Labor on September 3rd.
