Barb Watters was named the State of Vermont Elk of the Year at the recent Vermont Elks Association Convention. The award was presented to Barb by VEA President, Morris "Rocky" Putnam. Barb was elected as the Exalted Ruler of Barre Lodge #1535 in April of 2018 and again in 2019. In addition to Elk of the Year, she was selected by District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler Fred Dusablon as Exalted Ruler of the Year for the Northern Lodges. Barre Lodge #1535 was awarded the coveted Lodge of the Year and received awards for Ritual, Elks National Foundation, and won the Americanism Award and the Michael Corcoran Veteran's Service Award.
