The Stern Center for Language and Learning announces five additions to its staff, enhancing the nonprofit organization’s capacity to meet the needs of learners and educators through high-quality direct services and robust professional learning opportunities.
Eugenia Lamet, M.S., CCC-SLP, joined the Stern Center’s Social Learning and Communications team this spring, bringing nearly 15 years of experience to her work with a wide range of clients. Her areas of expertise include working with individuals on the autism spectrum as well as anyone with challenges in articulation and oral language communication.
Sandra Cameron, M.Ed., assumes the role of Early Learning Director July 1. Ms. Cameron is an education leader and innovator with over twenty years of experience in the field of early education as a school administrator, adjunct professor, special educator, and pediatric occupational therapist. In her role of Early Learning Director, she will drive accessibility, quality, and expansion of the Stern Center’s early learning programming (birth to age 8), including the upcoming launch of its online professional learning course for early educators, Building Blocks for Literacy.
Kelsey Hanrahan, M.S., joins the Evaluation team July 8. A recent graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh, Ms. Hanrahan brings a background in Functional Behavior Assessments, Applied Behavior Analysis, and autism spectrum disorder to her work with clients seeking comprehensive, diagnostic assessments.
Amy Porter, M.Ed., OGAL, and Erin Manahan, B.S., join the Professional Learning team August 1 as Structured Literacy Coaches who will collaborate with elementary educators to bring effective literacy instruction into the classroom and ensure that all children can read proficiently by the end of third grade. Both Ms. Porter and Ms. Manahan have been trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching literacy and have extensive teaching experience.
The Stern Center for Language and Learning is a nonprofit educational resource in Williston, VT, dedicated to enriching the lives of learners. For 35 years the organization has recognized that all great minds don’t think alike, and its staff helps children and adults reach their academic, social and professional goals. The Stern Center provides research-based learning evaluations and customized instruction, including those with learning disabilities, dyslexia, language disorders, social learning challenges, autism, attention deficit disorders and learning differences.
