Age Well elects new board members and appoints Lenes and Ramsay

Age Well, the leading experts and advocates for the aging population in Northwestern Vermont, welcomed Joan Lenes as their new Board Chair and Dr. Allan Ramsay as Vice-Chair. Lenes is a former Shelburne state representative and a Meals on Wheels volunteer for over thirty years. Lenes has been very involved through the years with many causes including membership in the Charlotte/Shelburne Rotary Club, founder of Robin’s Nest Children’s Center, and Board Chair of Emerge Vermont. “I’d like to help Age Well be on the forefront of what our aging population needs and help them be a strong resource for the area. I really appreciate the Age Well community including staff, volunteers, and clients. I’m grateful to be involved and be a part of helping our community age well,” stated Lenes. Outgoing Chair, Dr. Kim Halladay was a valuable asset to the organization and looks forward to returning to Michigan to be near family. “Kim was tremendous on the Board of Directors. With his calm style, commitment, and perseverance, we were so lucky to have had Kim’s leadership during the last couple of years,” said Lenes.

In addition, Dr. Allan Ramsay, Medical Director at the People’s Health and Wellness Clinic, was appointed Vice-chair. He brings over 40 years of community health and medical experience with a strong background in hospice, palliative care and geriatrics. His affiliations include the American College of Physicians, American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Academy of Hospice Palliative Medicine. Dr. Ramsay has served on several nonprofit boards, including the Green Mountain Care Board, Visiting Nurses Association, and the Community Health Center (Burlington). Susie Brooks (White + Burke Real Estate Investment Advisors) and Meagan Buckley (Wake Robin) were also appointed to the Board of Directors.
