UVM Health Network - Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) is pleased to welcome orthopedic surgeon John “JP” Begly, MD, to its Orthopedics & Sports Medicine group. Dr Begly comes to Vermont from Vail, Colorado’s Steadman Philippon Research Institute, where he recently completed a one-year sports medicine fellowship focused on minimally-invasive hip, knee and shoulder interventions.
Dr Begly’s specialties include diagnosis and treatment of hip impingement and labral tears via hip arthroscopy, as well as treatment of sports-related/overuse injuries of the rotator cuff, shoulder and knee, such as general instability and meniscus tears.
He’s eager to collaborate with central Vermont high schools and colleges to provide sports team coverage and to meet patients and families through community forums and general outreach.
“I look forward to practicing the skills I’ve obtained along the way,” Dr Begly said. “It’s an active population (here); I want to help people get back to doing the activities they want to after they get hurt.”
Dr Begly is based at CVMC Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, 1311 Barre Montpelier Road, Berlin. To learn more, visit www.cvmc.org/provider/begly-john or call 225-3970.
