Colchester Police Chief Jennifer Morrison was awarded the Hero of the Year Award by Heroes Home Advantage Partners of Chittenden County. The award celebrates her distinguished career in Law Enforcement and her accomplishments over the past five years as Chief of the Colchester PD. Chief Morrison began her career at 22, just out of college, with the Burlington Police Department and worked her way through the ranks to that of Deputy Chief. In 2013 she stepped down from that role to be the Chief of the Colchester PD and last year became the first woman to hold the post of president of the Vermont Chiefs of Police. Prior to receiving the award Chief Morrison commented: “I’m honored to accept this award really because of the work we all do every day” Chief Morrison accepted the award in front of her friends, family and longtime coworkers who had nothing but accolades for the chief.
