Vermont resident named vice president of national nonprofit consulting firm

Chicago-based Ter Molen Watkins & Brandt, one the of the country’s top fundraising consulting firms, has expanded in the Northeast naming Shelburne, VT resident, Meagan Downey, Vice President in July. Downey will serve nonprofits across the US providing strategic philanthropic counsel and resources for sustainability. Downey brings two decades of nonprofit management and consulting experience to her role and also volunteers for several Vermont initiatives, including serving as Governor Phil Scott’s Appointee to the Vermont State Rehabilitation Board for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

“I’m thrilled to be able to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations in Vermont and beyond with new tools, resources and expertise provided through TW&B,” Downey said. Downey has an MBA from Champlain College and has been a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) since 2009. She relocated to Vermont from the Chicago area in 2011 and has continued to serve nonprofits throughout the country while being based in Vermont, including California, South Dakota, and Texas.

TW&B President Don Souhrada views Downey’s addition as an important move that will result in increased access to the firm’s offerings, which have resulted in stronger governance, leadership, and engagement for its nonprofit clients. “We are pleased to have consultants from coast-to-coast in seven locations throughout the U.S. with this newest addition to our team,” Souhrada said.

TW&B’s education center at twbfundraising.com includes free downloadable tools, whitepapers and resources on topics related to nonprofit management and fundraising.
