New Executive Director at the Special Needs Support Center

Laura Perez has recently joined the team at the Special Needs Support Center in Lebanon, NH. She brings more than fifteen years of experience in community organization and program development including fundraising, education, and outreach with a goal of enhancing community wellness. Her baccalaureate education focused on the politics of poverty at the domestic and international levels and community education as a force for social change. Laura recently graduated from Norwich University with a Master’s in Business Administration with a Strategic Organizational Leadership Focus. She is personally and professionally committed to creating a safer, happier, and healthier place for us all to live, play, and work.

“I am honored to join a team of caring professionals whose commitment to their work is reflected in the joyous faces of the children, adults, and families who we serve,” said Laura Perez, SNSC Executive Director. “Every day our team demonstrates a high level of skill and professionalism while ensuring children and adults with special needs, and their families, are able to meet their unique challenges with care and support”.

“The SNSC Board is thankful for the experience and visionary leadership that Laura brings to the organization” said Jo-Anne Unruh, SNSC’s Board President. “With her leadership, we hope to become stronger financially, operationally and administratively which will allow us to expand our reach and improve our services which are so vital to the health and well-being of our entire community.”

Before joining our team, Laura was part of the leadership team at Stagecoach Transportation Services. Ensuring access to transportation for vulnerable people in rural areas is an issue that is near to her heart. Previously, she enjoyed the work of cultivating and maintaining relationships within the Upper Valley community which resulted in community participation in the delivery of services and stewardship of the facilities and programs at the Upper Valley Haven.

Laura lives with her husband and three children on a farm in Bethel, VT. Originally built in 1817 by the Macintosh Family, their farmhouse is home to one of the first Macintosh Apple orchards in the country. On their farm, they make apple cider, raise lamb and chicken, make maple syrup, and grow produce for their family.

The Special Needs Support Center helps children and adults with special needs, and their families, meet their unique challenges through advocacy and program support. Children and families served by SNSC are more productive, have greater independence, and are empowered to contribute to their communities. For more information on SNSC programs, go to www.snsc.org.
