Sara Holbrook Community Center welcomes Donna Diaz to its management staff as the new program director of their afterschool program and summer program for elementary school-aged children. “We are so lucky to have Donna joining the Sara Holbrook Center team,” said Executive Director Leisa Pollander. “She comes with an incredible skill base and great commitment to the children and families the Center serves.”
Diaz comes to Sara Holbrook Community Center with more than 25 years of extensive programming experience serving diverse populations through YWCA VT, the Greater Burlington YMCA, and Special Olympics of both Montana and Vermont. Diaz served on the Special Olympics World Games and USA National Games committees located in Ireland, China, Greece, Iowa, Nebraska and New Jersey. With Special Olympics, she trained and certified coaches and volunteers for a better competition experience for the athletes. She was involved in new initiatives with young athletes, college curriculum, sports and medical festivals, and Project Unify (a program bringing those with and without disabilities together). She hopes to continue and strengthen a fun, engaging and safe environment to all who attend the Afterschool Elementary Program at Sara Holbrook Center.
